Italy High School presented the second annual Talent Show on Tuesday evening in the open air. Parents, family and friends joined the students in the brand new Cargill-Gallman Pavilion downtown for fun, frolic and service to a neighboring community. Donations for the community of West were collected at both the Stafford Elementary campus and Italy High/Junior High School campus during the days prior to the talent show. (Continued…)

Italy’s Got Talent

With all the reality TV shows highlighting talent, American Idol, The Voice, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With The Stars, the public now realizes there are talented performers in every nook and cranny of this great nation. Jungle animals run rampant at Stafford Elementary!

Every year at Stafford Elementary the first graders always put on the play ‘Deep in the Jungle’. Now, last night like all the other performances of this play the cafeteria was packed with proud parents, teachers, students and friends. Youth Benefit Concert – Saturday, February 18

Dianne Jaynes Benefit Concert-Saturday, February 4th at Upchurch Ball Park-Italy

There will be a benefit concert for Dianne Jaynes this Saturday, February 4th.  Live music will be provided by the Justin Guthrie Band, Moonshine Band, David Harness with Jason Herrin, DJ TOO COOL and an appearance by Tres Medlock.  In conjunction with the concert there will be food, raffle items and auction items. The benefit will be held at the Upchurch Ball Fields at 200 Dilworth Street, Italy, from 5:00pm to midnight. (Continued…)

Italy Gladiator Regiment Band performs Christmas concert

Italy Hosts Christmas Parade and Festival

Mayor’s Egg Hunt a success

The Easter Bunny made an appearance at the Upchurch Field on Saturday much to the delight of over 125 children of Italy. Special Delivery in the Italy Fire Department’s fire truck, E.B. came to help with the festivities. Hiding eggs is his specialty and this time was no different. (Continued…)

Invitation to Easter egg hunt at Dunlap Library

I would like to invite the children of Italy and their parents to the 28th Annual Dunlap Library Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23 at 9 o’clock. Children up to ten are invited to join us for a morning of family fun. We’ll have three groups; tiny tots in the children’s room, ages 3-5 in the front yard, and ages 6 to 10 in the back yard. (Continued…)

Plans underway for 2nd Annual Milford Arts & Crafts Fair

Saturday, June 4, 2011, Milford will have its 2nd Annual Arts & Crafts Fair. The event will be held at the Milford Park off of Hwy 77 in downtown Milford. Hours will be from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Week long Expo event ends with successful sale

The 22nd annual Ellis County Youth Expo concluded on Saturday with a barbecue lunch before the sale began at 1:00 p.m. Several exhibitors representing both Italy and Milford made the sale and received much support from local buyers. (Continued…)

Relay For Life Planned

The Relay For Life of Central Ellis County is set for May 20-21, 2011. Last year’s event raised $130,000 for the American Cancer Society and there were 701 participants on teams. This year’s goal is 750 participants and $150,000. At present there are 232 participants and $23,055 raised. (Continued…)
