A caring host family (with or without children) is needed to provide food, a bed and a loving home to 16-year-old Pauline from Germany. She was looking forward to her school year in America and hoped to arrive in August, but there is a shortage of host families and she has been unable to find a placement home. The Italy Ministerial Alliance (a local group of churches and individuals representing different faiths) hosts the local food pantry once a month for Italy residents. In fact, it is always open the first Monday of the month from 5pm-8pm, located at First United Methodist church at 124 Harpold, come rain or shine, holiday or not. Elizabeth Sam, a 1991 WHS graduate, passed away after a valiant fight with breast cancer on July 1, her 37th birthday. Her family and friends need our help raising funds for funeral expenses. The College Street Pub in Waxahachie has graciously offered to host a benefit to assist the Sam family on Wednesday, July 7 from 7:00 p.m. to close. (Continued…)

The Royal Ambassadors and their leaders from Central Baptist Church in Italy, Texas, are getting ready to pack another “Bucket of Hope” for Haiti earthquake victims. Friday evening before the homecoming game the George E. Scott Memorial Scholarship dinner was held at Italy High School in the cafeteria.
